The shine on the eyes was a bit of a last-minute decision. Originally I wanted the eyes to just be black to give the impression of dead void eyes, but the piece seemed more diffiult to read (which I understand could be beneficial to an abstract piece). Ultimately I decided to just go with the shine to both make the piece more readable and create a bit of cute / creepy contrast. Honestly I'm still kind of on the fence about it but I'll probably just keep the shine for now since I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to edit this until after the challenge?
