That's a really cool way to animate water. Not too distracting. Great piece. The saturation on the grass is a little intense though.
i like the water . I know it's hard to animate water on a top view like this. and i think the technic you use works perfectly.
You know looking up that game you mentioned I kind of see what you mean. However there was no reference used for this particular piece.

Please post your references, looks like it's heavily influenced by Samurai Spirits RPG. It looks good, but nothing great if you consider the inspiration.
I like the style. The trees feel a bit out of place colorwise, kind of too bright. The water waving like a paralax effect when you have static waves drawn into it also looks a bit weird, like a blowing curtain painted with waves. Critics aside, I really like this.
Not a fan of the water animation, but everything else is sublime.

Great one, but I`d like it much more with trees saturated quite less than now. And grass, too. They both are too green, whereas (in my opinion) they should be shifted to brown.
The water animation looks like WIP-animation because it seems quite rough for the reason that it is animated by lines. Though, I love that it doesn`t distract player at all.
Overall, the tileset is great. May be the edge between rocks and dirt/sand is too sharp for me, too.
P. S. It reminds me of the first Stronghold. And I can`t say it`s bad. :)
Did you follow my tutorial for the animated water by any chance? Looks very similar.
