One part that really comes to my eye first is the edge of the hills and the sky, and the glow on the moon. If you look it carefully on the native resolution there's a pretty faded star shape surrounding the moon due to the banding. Addition of AA would be great to this piece too.(also covered on Cure's tutorial)
Thank you all :)
Siikikala: Thanks much! I didn't know what banding was. After reading it though, there shouldn't be any since it was done with the 1 pixel pencil tool in paint.exe. Which spot in particular looks like banding? If I accidentally mimicked banding by hand that would be a bad habit to get into :D
I'll probably play with using less colors in the future, I think that's about 70 colors, most of which are just slightly different tones of the same few colors for handling glow/reflections.
It's a pretty scene, but has way too much colors in it. I think you could make the same thing with around 16 if you would pay more attention to the color use.
There seems to be quite a bit of banding too so you might want to check that out. This is your first piece so if you're not familiar with the term here's the trusty old pixelart tutorial by cure.

I'm just not a fan of the sky, but everything else looks great to me (= .
I don't like shading on the sky, but light is stunning. :)
