Cool! But damn every warhammer veteran should know that the halo of a saint must be in a goldish-colour! :P The current green colour lacks any glow and it takes a few seconds to understand what it really is at all.
Other than that, I love how much character the sprite has. The little tongue, the whole posture and the once-awesome cape! Cool character! :)
As for the rust: Especially good for on the boot. Like the effect there.
I like it. Not a big fan of that green circle/halo thing though. But the rest is wicked cool.
Thanks for the compliments and critiques everyone!
@TheInternetsGirlfriend, The head is more of an accessory but it's easier to focus on it at 2x.
@Redshrike, nice find on the lyrics! I didn't actually know there was a word for saints carrying their heads around and when I looked it up there's actually a debate about where the halo should go. I guess I fall in the "where the head used to be" camp.
@Bark Snarly. The orb is a version of a halo that's typically found on artwork of religious figures. I like your suggestion for the sword shortening and I added another notch on the underside of the blade.
Colours are pretty neat although the weird orb where his head is supposed to be is a bit distracting, I thought it was a strange helmet that you forgot to shade in when I first saw it. Also the shading on the sword is a bit messy. Even if it's a pretty wrecked sword I feel like you should clean it up a bit (maybe make the end snapped off to add emphasis to how worn it is along with a few notches and slashes across it)
Though there are millions of Cephalophores
that wander through this world,
You've got something extra going on
I think you probably know.
thats some cool shit. I really like the posture and colours are perfect. Only thing I would say is its hard to notice the head under his arm but maybe that is the point? Awesome peice
Thanks Groggeneral and Zizka for the compliments.
@Groggeneral
Death to the false god! Pixels for the pixel god! He just exists in his own little universe, mainly inspired by painting rust and patina on miniatures which I find a lot of fun. But you did make me want to give him a 40k iron halo inspired design instead of the current green one (now updated).
