since i myself am fond of symmetry, i don't mind the mirroring, even though a tad more effort to "cover up" the "fold" in the middle could do it some good. i like using mirroring myself for symmetric images, flipping back the highlight in the eye though is imperative in my eyes (what a pun :D)... PS love how you made use of the palette to create thin looking whiskers.
I agree with Sohei that it's too symetric but it doesn't look flat to me. 5/5 for original work and great attention to detail.
Apart from the mirroing which is certainly excusable if this was done in a day, nothing much wrong with this :)
