There is alway a bigger fish...
I had the chance to play some good old Gradius last weekend.
Since I haven't done a mock-up in quite some time and wanted to figure out how to pixel a rough metal surface I restricted myself to do some kind of space game with a huge end boss and a 10 colour palette.
The metal was the hardest part to do. I tried to incorporate a lot more cleaner lines and dithering but it made the surface look too smooth. A bunch of random lines and crosses worked pretty well though!

scrapped the white; 9 colours now.
