A rule of thumb is to try and avoid copying parts of your last frame over to the next frame.
It may appear to be a quick way of generating parts of your animation but it'll almost always
look wooden. In this case, the torso and head have been cloned throughout the walk animation and simply offset into a bobbing motion. As pointless as it seems, clearing the next frame and redrawing it from scratch will give you a much more natural animation flow.

For a diagonal walk, his legs seem to spread out on the step a little too wide. It seems like the feet end up like:

left --- right

instead of:

          /right         

left /

Am I making sense?

i actually took a bunch of videos on my camera before making this, and found that when people walk/march deliberately the way this is, they really barely move their torsos at all

i do need to figure out the arms though, i thnk i can just cut-paste thing to line the arms up a little differently and more naturally

Nice smooth animation and I agree with Kwigbo that some torso twisting would definately add to the overall smoothness of the animation.

If your lookin to perfect it i'd say the left arm snaps forward a bit to quick. The movement should slow as the arm reaches the peak of its movement. Are you going to add any kind of torso twisting? cause that would add alot to it. I love looking at your work though very good.
