Walls and floor look a bit flat, candles seem to float in the air, I don't personally like how the helmet turned out but I just love the sword and how the blade looks. This part is amazing!
Helmet could use some work but the smoothness of this is awe-some.\
Amazing lighting aswell
@andrae
Thanks!
You're definitely right about the lighting there, I did have the wall as brighter than the floor as it should be given the actual flame of the candles is closer to the wall than the floor but it looked really strange at the time so I reverted the change while I worked on other things. Looks like I didn't redo it at all either!
@phillippejugnet
I forgot to mention it but I used your piece with the glowing jellyfish as a ref for doing the lighting in my bricks, totally crossed my mind to add a link in the description - I'll do that now!
Could you see the similarities?
@rhlstudios, @Evidence and @eigenbom
Thanks guys!
Superb lighting. My only crit: At first glance it took me seconds before differentiating the floor and wall near the candles, but I know they are floor and wall.
Thanks, the candles and lighting near them is something I've messed with constantly. I had darker streaks heading away from each candle as the body of the candle would block some light from the other two but I realised that there would still be light coming from the top of that candle so it just ended up looking too weird.
In hindsight I probably should've just gone for a lantern or something - would've been a lot easier to do IMO...
Yes, this is really nice, There is somehing else bothering me though, it's the candles, there are no shadows at all, it looks like the wax bit itself is the light source and they look as if they're hovering. It is just a minor thing and doesn't detract from your work! :)
Yea, I probably should've added a little crack or dent on the wall where the crossguard is resting against it, otherwise it would probably just rotate rather than balancing as I've portrayed it... Now that you've mentioned it, I might actually make a quick edit for that!
Thanks for the feedback!
Really great colours. Only thing that is bugging me is the position of the sword, it looks like it's balancing with no gravity to push it down (not sure if I'm wording that properly). Really nice piece regardless of that nitpick though!
cool, very darksoulsy
