absolutely flawless challenge entry...both objectively and subjectively in my subjective opinion. Just how you used the palette, the perfect model for the colors, the perfect shading techniques to bring out both...You are a gifted artist
@Pheno: that's a property of your browser, not of pixeljoint.
@Pheno, DatMuffinMan, I used excessive AA for the contours of each clusters to get the slope I want. So I'm not sure if I could make a better clusters here.
But I do agree they look smudgy at 4x even if viewed correctly with Firefox.
The clusters look well-defined to me, I'm confused as what you mean by blurry smudges. At 400% everything looks like a smudge because PJ's resizing is trash, but the pixels are well-placed, and if I had to guess I'd place a bet on the clusters starting as solid colors and then having more colors added to refine them.
Great piece, by the way, effectively captures the reference's image (though perhaps her neck is a bit too long?).
even from your video, I can't tell what your process is for placing clusters... at 100%, it all looks very pretty, but at 4x, the eyes, nose, and ears look just like blurry smudges.
That was also the first reaction by the first person I showed it to.
Very skilled piece. I thought the neck seemed really thin but then I looked at the model you used as ref and she just really does have a teensy neck.
Wow. Wow. Wow.
I LOVE this. Positively love this. Such talent.
I'll be keeping my eyes on you, friendo.
This looks really nice. I feel like the shadows on the left side of her face and right side of her head (as seen by the viewer) conflict somewhat, but I still like it a lot.
