I've never really used antialiasing before so I wouldn't know where to begin with that.

This was not very detailed work. I guess it is a cross between a cartoon and pixel art rather than the more realistic and textured styles of most large pixel pieces.

Neat concept! One thing though, your lightsource doesn't match up with the wings, edit/example i.imgur.com/EBCyHoA.png

Also, if you gave it a bit of a background you could AA the outline a bit more like I showed in the edit (look around the left paw), very neat concept though. There's still a lot you can do with this imho, but it still looks nice.

I see your point, but I still think it's pixelart. The only thing is that it's a bit un-refined. For example, this style is a bit similar to DatMuffinMan, but Muffin's pieces have a lot more refinement going on in them - it's definitely pixelart, it just has a few messy things about it going on at a pixel level.

I feel like this isn't really pixel art.

How big it is combined with the lack of antialiasing makes it feel like a cartoon line drawing.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice, I just don't think it's pixel art.
