Based on lineart by Marathon of Martin from the cartoon Martin Mystery.
I wanted to train on something bigger than I did before when I did this one :)

hot damn that show is crap

Lex_2005 (Level 1 Rookie) at 2/14/2006 12:40:40 PM
Oh yeah, sorry didn't get it (english is not my native language). The laser beam
were done using opacity, but everything under the beam were painted pixel by
pixel. Is that bad? :( I could have done it manually but I guess it would give same result.
You're right I could do more AA in some places, especially on the jeans and the
shirt, the watch looks crap and needs some corrections too, but
I'm too lazzy to correct it now :o I'll rather try to bring another piece with
more AA and stuff, altrough I don't have any idea on what to pixel next.
Thanks all for helpful comments and happy pixeling to everyone :)

P.S: I'm really not a fan of the show, cannot say it's crap because it's a good
artistic, technic and team work, just drew the personnage because I like shojo
and shonen art style :)

Jalonso meant "Nice effort, too bad...."  yeah, it does seem like the purple hollogram out of his watch is just another layer with lowered opacity but it looks good, I think. It needs a bit more AA in some places, but overall it looks good.

I saw the show twice, i think, and I agree with happip lol, it's waay cheesy

Lex_2005 (Level 1 Rookie) at 2/9/2006 11:07:20 AM
Jalonso, everything were drawn and redrawn by hand, pixel by pixel, I did not try to bad the lineart layers because my interest is to learn how to master pixelart :)

Nice effort to bad the "layers" are very obvious. It is best to redraw the opacity layers by hand using solid colors.

I love the position.. Awesome work dude.

happip (Level 6 Serial Killer) at 2/9/2006 10:26:42 AM
you really caught the essence of the character hehe ( although you used a premade lineart). I could say this sprite is better than the show ( which is... excuse me if you get offended, a piece of crap xD )

Very good work! Though i never heard of this Martin Mistery guy!

At first, I thought he was that fire dude from Captain Planet.
