The sun in panel 1 and the light around the main character in panel 2 and 3 causes many colors due to the gradient. Other sources are also possible but these are some that are obvious.
I made a zoomed in screenshot of the sun (on the left) and the light around the character (on the right) here.
You can check for color count using this. You can find it under "Features -> Image Specs Tool" in the menu at the top of the site.
Wow I didn't realize how many colors were in the PJ, well maybe is because of some kind of compression in the image, don't know where you took that info though. I made the pixelart within gamemaker in the editor, so sometimes when I erased some of the work I didn't realized that the eraser tool was on 1 opacity, so there are pixels with data but is not visible to human eye. I'll rework the sprites and upload all of them 1x and with the right amount of colors ;)
The light in the sprites are not retouched by any means by the engine, so sprite colors are the same in all the 3 levels. In future games I'll do that though.
Many many thanks for your comment, I really appreciate all the feedback ;)
-Yeah a lot of people has said that about gravity, I have to learn to code in traditional way, I used the 2dbox engine for gamemaker, that is why physics and gravity are not that controllable by me.
-In the end when you reach 'me' in the lighttower there is no cutscene the game just stops and waits until its fades away to the cutscenes where I talk with her.
Many many thanks for your comment and for letting me know your opinion! ;)
I'll keep doing games from now on, something I really want to do ^^
Great pixels (may favorite parts is the bed and the rock texture)! but PJ image specs: "Number of colors: 2672" :( The light around the character in the dark scenes should be redone
Very nice running and spinning animation in the double jump. The falling from the jump did take a bit to get used to, too slow in my opinion.
Concerning bugs, I'm not sure if at the end the game just stops at the lighttower or if there's a supposed cutscene that didn't came up for me.
Also kudos for such a cool anniversary gift and for 1st game
Oh yeah, now I know why... well using gradients obviously is going to create a lot of different colours, I didn't wanted to make my own gradient using dithering because it doesn't look nice. And it's easier just using PS to do that, than dithering all. Well I just had one month deadline due to our anniversary anyways.
Thanks again!
