Unfortunately the canvas size is too big to fit the challenge rules. So I will be doing another animation that is something along the lines of this i.imgur.com/snuw3J2.gif

Also, I tried to use all 31 colours at the beginning but then ended up cutting the palette down so everything got a bit messy, there also might be some banding here and there.

And early Happy Halloween you blasphemous pagans :P

EDIT: apparently the PJ checker says I have 31 colours, but it's giving me some colours that have a '<' next to them, they almost look like duplicates of other colours (maybe my brush was on 99% opacity). So working on fixing that atm.

I use GIMP! Before I was using GIMP and Aseprite, but I find that gimp is just better overall.

@Lyud

Thanks so much mate!

Awesome, what software do you use to make such a good animation?

user
Lyud (Level 2 Dealer) @ 10/17/2014 16:49

Owww so cute, nice colors away!!

skittle (Level 9 Nidan) @ 10/17/2014 05:20

Yeah, I guess I'll be keeping it then. Thanks for suggesting that man!

@Finlal and Crafty

Thanks a lot you two!

Very smooth now. Great job!

It looks better with that extra color in there. I would definitely not remove the background, or go with an outline. The reason I was drawn to this piece was how rich the colors and lighting looked against the black background.. I use a blue themed user interface for pixeljoint so if you left it transparent it would look really bad on my background, no telling how it would look with all the other users.

- Great! -

Just fixed it, I think (I might add even more frames to make it even smoother though) :D

@Skeddles

Thanks so much man!

@Bathmaster

Thanks dude, I appreciate it!

Yeah, it seems the general crit is about that, I just added a few more frames to smooth things down (and made the jump go higher). Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the comment dude! I just added another colour, not sure if it's looking better or not though :C

I'm thinking that maybe I should just ditch the black BG all together and just outline it in black.

skittle (Level 9 Nidan) @ 10/16/2014 11:54

Thanks for the c+c man! I added a few more frames, I switched it too 75 milliseconds per frame, it was at 100 before but 50 was just too fast.

user
Finlal (Level 11 Special Agent) @ 10/16/2014 07:39

That's some good animation.
Though it's not really smooth. If you have time, try to add more frames to highest and lowest points.

Also, can't wait for 64x64.

Dude your use of colors here...really really good. I kind of wish there was 1 more transitinal color to the black, or at least some light AA on that maroon outline when it hits the black. I 2nd what the others are saying about the animation. Still this is totally awesome, if your challenge entry is anything like this I will definitely vote for it.

cute!

What Cyangmou said . Perhaps it could bounce higher too to get more out of the bouncing animation.

skeddles (Level 11 Psychopath) @ 10/16/2014 04:46

Wow this is great

Cyangmou (Level 8 Marshal) @ 10/16/2014 04:22

I personally would double the amount of frames (and the speed) to make it even smoother, aside from that it's adorable.

user
skittle (Level 9 Nidan) @ 10/15/2014 20:50

Yeah, oh well, I'll be making another one anyways since I need a new avatar :P

Too bad you couldn't get it into the challenge

Nice animation though!
