That is a neat idea, switching from dark to a bit brighter, I suppose the NES could handle palette swap like that. I mean we don't have any limitations, but we want to be as close as possible :D
(Maybe if there is success with this game we could make a NES rom? lol)
You're welcome ;)
As to the last image you submitted, are you referring to this one?
I'm asking because imo the background color used in there would fit the club theme better (although I must admit that the longer I look at both pictures, the more I think that, if possible, a transition between the two background colors and lighting fx - i.e. grey/blue +lights off before the battle vs brown+lights on during the battle - might make for some "calm before the storm" atmosphere or something like that...Idk, just wondering ^^)
Oh, and the compatibility part is really good news :)
Hey thanks dude!
We'll start with windows, then mac and linux I think. And since the engine is also made by us it can be ported to almost anything (Our friendly Coder words) :)
What do you think about the background color on the last image I submitted?
Thanks for taking your time to comment!
I have seen the tumblr page for this game and it looks really promising...Which platform/os will it run on, btw?
As to this particular level, I can't find any major issue: imo it would definitely make a great boss fight arena, and the lighting effects (choreography and reflection on surfaces) look gorgeous
The only thing I'd change maybe is the background color, as I think that dark blue/purple would make for a "cooler" disco setting rather than brown, but it's just a matter of personal taste.
I think you're right...Wouldn't such swap be like the one seen in Megaman 3, during the underground part of Geminiman's stage (in this case withouth the looping, of course)?
And yes, please, if possible make a ROM, too! ;) It would be a good idea in terms of added compatibility, also on older and future systems.
