Hey there again. After the last update the controls have much, much improved! Either they have been buggy or conter intuitive for me. But now everything works flawlessly.
The game is still kind of hard, though. But with the great music, graphics and addicting gameplay, I am still trying to beat it. Really well done, great work guys. I am buying all the other games as a bundle, too. Those pixel graphics are too nice to pass...
albertov!! eres fantastico creando sprite, me recuerda algunos juegos de Arcade!!!
Thanks for your support! Leave a review on iTunes if you finally beat the game, hehe, that helps a lot too.
The girl has a max speed, so you must slide your finger smoothly with her. In fact, you must slide to make her move. If you touch some part of the screen, she won't move unless you actually slide the finger (try it). That gives you control on difficult situations, for example, when you're between two explosions. Once you get used to the controls, I think it plays well. My brother is better than me, he can beat Stage 5.
Haven't played Wizorb on iOS, but customer reviews seems to say it has poor controls. Is it playing well for you? It actually plays very well on PC.
I actually just bought it now. The music is really incredible. The title tune is one of these rare ones, that immediately stuck with you and sound familiar and nice. Also the gorgeous pixelart looks even better in motion. I had some problems with the controls, though. The girl didn't seem to really follow my finger some times (unlike for example the paddle in Wizorb or Breakfinity).
My influences are very clear with this game, hehe...
The game sounds quite arcade-ish because the sound effects are wavs generated via FM synthesis, and the music emulates (more or less) the Yamaha YM2151 sound chip found in the Sharp X68000 japanese computer and some arcade machines.
Basically, we wanted this game to cause some nostalgia feeling from the good old arcade days. If you beat Stage 5 (which is almost impossible), you'll see a humble ending and listen to a beautiful and rewarding ending melody.
Thanks everyone for the comments!
Man, that looks really awesome. As a game it also makes the most polished appearance, very well done. Especially like the sounddesign with its arcade-ness, if that's a word.
I liked all of them, but this one was my favorite.
Nice!!! the sprites are very beautiful and it reminds me of the game Pang for SNES ;) or bubble bobble for the art style.
Brilliant look! Really solid pixel-pushing.
