The font looks fine, the readability issues stem from the fact that the text has lower contrast to its immediate surroundings than other nearby elements (the frame) do. Give it brighter colours from the palette (and leave the frame unchanged, or even get rid of the brightest colour on it), and it should read quite well.

Cheers for your critique, mate. I like your version, higher contrast really helps with making the text more readable.
I'm happy that you like, at least, some parts of the piece. ;)
@ Lux_pp
Thank you! I really have to work on how to make fonts look good. :x
@ eishiya
Argh, my old nemesis; text!.
Glad you like the rest, cheers!
Yo buddy! 'sup? :3 I like your style and your shifts! but this time, not a fan xddd, I think these things could of have been changed :DDDD.
Keep it up!
Quality pixel art right here. I agree that the text is difficult to read though, especially when not enlarged, because it has such high contrast.
The text is difficult to read because the light bits around it are more contrasty than the text itself, but aside from that, this looks beautiful. Those colours and textures!
I think you could get rid of the white in the text. The thing with keeping text legible is it has to be contrasted from other parts of the image, but should have relatively little contrast between different parts of the text itself, so it's best to keep it to 1-2 colours.
