Here's an animation of the Ice King being ousted out of his chocolate coated disguise after Finn and Jake found out he was the true culpret after all! Anyway, about the animation; I was asked to do a 6 frame sort of shake off animation but I asked if I could do something different. I like the humor in Adventure Time and I figured it would be in Ice King's character to not over react and just play dumb(not in a smart way) as his disguise just melted away. Sort of with this face ('-C' ) lol
The animation turned out to be about 20 frames (some of last frames are just chocolate particles vanishing) I had a lot of fun messing around with the fluid style dynamics for the chocolate melting off. I didn't use any special tricks for this. All off the cuff! I just went in and manually melted that chocolate off. :D I've also included a reverse of the animation as I felt it was less jarring than just having it jump back to the beginning frame.
**An interesting fact about all of the Adventure Time sprites for this game is that they all had hand pixeled alpha channels on the edges in order to soften them up and make it a bit more like the cartoon. The typical range for the Alpha was just 77,77,77. The engine would automatically make those colors alphas. t's a neat effect that I hope to see more often.
Strictly for portfolio purposes. Adventure Time and the Ice King are owned by Cartoon Network
