The main issue is the middle frame that's repeated twice per cycle, and is actually a standing pose: because of this, he's shuffling not walking. He should alternatively raise one foot, then the other. See this tuto, 'passing' frames.
I don't mind the once-per-cycle head move, it makes sense because of the ~iso angle: he'd bob his head to one side (that we see as forward) and once to the other (toward the viewer).
I feel like at this sprite size, 3 frames isn't enough. It works at smaller sprite sizes, but at this size each leg moves so much between frames that it looks very choppy. Check out the main character sprites in Sword of Mana for reference. They have a 5-frame walk cycle at a similar scale.
I also think the forward movement of the head is unnecessary. That could work in a battle idle animation, but isn't natural for walking, unless it's meant to be something specific to the character.
The way the head bobs forward when only one of the feet goes forward looks a bit off.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Appreciate it!
@Manupix: Funny cause just half an hour ago I found this page and thought: I should really make 4 frames with this passing frame :D Just, exactly my thoughts, thanks for the link though :) You're right of course.
@eishiya: Yes, true.. I thought somehow it would work with the 3poses/4frames system. But the more I look at it now, the more it bothers me ;) Also, I'll try to make a version without the forward movement - see how it looks like.
I keep it updated :)
