Yeah, something like that! I think that reads more clearly. Might want to play with the colours some more though. Don't take my word for it.

I think the way you have it now, with the upper lip shaded, and the bottom lip lit, looks better than adding an outline. I think you should just darken that upper lip's colour a bit.

The animation looks nice! I think the darker red could work better darker to make more contrast (at first glance it's not even noticeable that are two reds).
