It was done by hand. I just made a pose of the actual sprites of the game and made the line art and just evolved it from there.
Yeah it took lone for me. Not going to lie, i'm not so fond of making sprite animations. Plus it is lazy anyway. I just foucused on the sprite it self.
In some of the frames, certain areas get stretched in a way that a human wouldn't do, such as the outline, which a human would keep at a consistent thickness in all frames. Similarly, a human would probably keep the fingers consistent in favour of moving the arm as a whole because that would look smoother, while a computer makes no such distinctions and distorts the fingers.
Also, all of the distortions/stretched parts line up perfectly, which also looks unnatural and is most likely the result of automatic stretching.
How can you tell it's automatic? I'm curious, I thought it was done by hand, would have fooled me.
I think it'll probably need some clean-up before it's accepted on PJ, since the stretching is automatic and not pure pixel art (and more importantly, looks as lazy as it was xP) The colours look good and I think this sprite deserves to have at least a few more minutes spent on making the animation look nice.
Maybe it would be best to post it non-animated, to show off the part of it that you're happy with, without the distraction of the part you're not that happy with.
