The shadow on the sand impresses me the most.

@DawnBringer yep, that's how I would interpret it. This is 4th version of background and the one I decided to stick with. Originally I planned to put it underwater but the results looked boring and typical, couldn't do without dithering while I wanted to avoid using it at all. I was looking for something fresh and accidentally found an option.
The sand where it meets the water could be and often is flat. And I don't really see why it's odd, white sand is pretty common. Even on Earth not to mention this could be some random planet, right? :) Anyway I tried texturing it and adding waves but flat one seems to work better.

Yeah, the perspective is a bit odd...but the creature could be tilting its head back, looking up.
The gray sand and brown water is a bit flat and odd. Testing a bit of color...
Hey its gas13! Looks good, though i have to say the perspective is weird, we should either see more of the top of its head or see the horizon, I'd say. Some of the tentacles seem out of perspective with the creature as well
