Featured is a walk I did for a game I was commissioned to work on as one of it's animators. My client requested for the tree enemy to walk. I got the idea that as it's walking it keeps having to rip out the roots that rapidly attach back into the ground. The tree has to exert a lot of effort to get around. Also the tree seems to be some sort of possesed creature so it doesn't walk with it's arms counter to the leg movement like normal humans would. Instead it walks with the arms pulling the legs forward as it rips it's foot out of the ground. I went through a lot of hardships to bring this to a finished state.
I would just like to state ahead of time that I am aware of the various bits of imperfections. I'll gladly look at any critique or comments that I'm given though! I animated this over a year ago and it took hours to finish but through the blood, sweat and tears I learned a lot and I feel much better for it. The techniques I used to animate this have been used in all future works.
As a bonus, in the preview I placed a cut out animation that I built as a way to better understand the rotation that would be happening as the tree walks. I was actually able to use most of it for the animation itself.
