Great! Reminds me of the Age of Wonders 2 Intro. I wish you would have been economical though.
Thank you.
@Redshrike & Dusty: I've tried uploading the gif with a different filename and the result is the same, the size is 9.35kb and the upload page states that it should be maximum 10kb. So I dont know what else could be wrong.
The issue is that in order for previews to show on the weekly showcase they have to be under the incredibly strict size of 10kb I think(it's either 10kb or 8kb). I've always hated it, yet I don't think pixeljoint will ever address issues like these. Usually you can get it that low with indexing the image, and good luck if you want a preview animation.
@wolf:if you try to upload an updated preview with the same filename it keeps the old one. maybe that is the issue?
composition, atmosphere, objects/animals and overall theme are really nice and interesting. and pretty well executed. the single color areas are bit plain for my taste, but as whole this is awesome. faved.
Thanks guys.
@ Goodlyay: I had to remove it for the preview to show up on the weekly showcase. I had the animated preview down to 9.35kb but it still didnt show for some reason
Very nice, stunning atmosphere and composition.
What happened to the animated present preview though?
Thanks Cels and Gecimen.
@Cels: I wanted the clouds to act like action lines to help infer the motion of the ship, don't know if it worked tbh.
Coolest scene I've seen on PJ for a long time. Extremely cool. The only thing that bothers me is that the clouds in the sky above all seem equidistant from both the viewer and each other. I get that it's artistic license and it serves a purpose though.
The hammer-shark-nado-dragon designs are amazing. Couldn't look more natural...
The sails still look a little unfinished but I like their form too.
I couldn't care less about banding in this wonderful piece! Amazing work!
- But it still looks amazing. Banding is a skill too. -
The smoothness is just out of this world!
Amazing preview too.
I like the idea of wing-sails in the airship. And many other things here ;)
I was thinking the same as Surt. The wole picture it's amazing as well
It creates lines that cross your gradient, making it look less smooth. Sometimes, something that isn't mathematically smooth (e.g. irregular-shaped clusters here and there) ends up looking smoother in the end because it avoids unintentional effects like that.
Thanks eishiya. The banding is intentional and I did it in order to create a relatively smooth gradient.
There's some heavy banding on the hammerhead dragon, but other than that: holy crap.
128 colours is a lot, but you've used those extra colours in the best ways.
Those dragon sharks are the best idea i have seen in a while. Fantastic pixel.
