Here are a few variations of a piece I did for Fantage's Comet App for iPad. We went with the multicolor one on the bottom, but I think I like the red version the most.

That makes sense. Skill is obvious so there had to be reason.

I guess I just grew accustomed to the style that we had at my last job and I've never really tried incorporating it. I'd like to experiment a little with it though. I've been working in new styles for personal work, but not too much I wanna show yet haha.

All the variations are nice.
Little bits of banding here and there but not a lot.
I notice in your pixels you never AA. Is this a design choice?
