I think the silhouette issue is just as important, if not more so.

I didn't notice it at first but that's true. Not so much for the blonde ones, though. I'll see what I can do, either covering the ears, or changing the eye color :3

At a glance it's hard to tell the front and side sprites apart. I think part of it is that the silhouette's about the same between them, and the hair between the face and ear reads like an eye in most of these.
