For a while now, I've wanted to do a little tribute to Manupix, as a thanks for his help on many occasions. There's a lot of people who have helped my pixelling since I started, certainly. It's tempting to make tributes for all of them, but I'd be too afraid to leave someone out. So I'll just do this one, though I haven't forgotten everyone else.

I wanted to use the palette from this avatar. which turned out to be a bigger challenge than I had in mind. Fortunately, Mandrill was able to help a lot.

Those of you who are a fan of Carl Barks will hopefully recognise two famous Carl Barks stories that inspired the motif.

Thanks for your feedback, guys! I wonder how many people got the reference to Carl Barks though. Maybe he's not as popular in other countries as in Norway. :)

@Æslet: I agree, should have put some bank notes in there. Not sure what you mean by being influenced more by Carl Barks than his stories.

@Mandrill: Just followed your lead, buddy. Cheers! :)

I'm amazed by what you've managed to achieve with that palette, CELS!  It's an absolutely stunning job. You worked very hard for this and it really paid off.

Just like bobston said, it is such a heartwarming gesture and deserves a lot of respect.

I'm more than happy that I was able to help you, and thank you very much for the lovely words!

Wow, a sweet pixel and an even sweeter gesture.

Nice, this could easy turned very disastrous, but you managed the palette well. First I don't like the metal effect of the statue(especially the jacket sleeve, but I guess you took more inspiration from Carl Barks than the two stories.

I like the coins, but it would be nice with some bank notes in it(but I think pretty unnecessarily to challenge the palette restrictions than you already did).

Thanks for your feedback, guys!

Again, I have to give props to Mandrill, whom I specifically asked for help with the metal. He always renders metal beautifully in his work and showed me the way for this piece.

Metalic look is great! It would be nice if the coins also had the same metal feel.

The animated sparkles in the middle and on the right are a different colour from the other "white". Seems like a redundant colour xP
