I wanted to do something fun, with a simple design, this time and I initially wanted to try a Split Complementary scheme using Yellow with various Purples, but ended up getting rid of the Yellows in favor of some robot greys. With only 11 colors I felt I couldn't waste any if I wanted to fully show light/shadow colors.
The character is a brain controlled robot businessman confidently on his way to work.
I added 3 erm...eastereggs or things I thought were funny...
*Spoilers maybe*
- the brain stem is supposed to be in the same walking position as the robot itself
- the brain has a toupe.
- the tie has wires coming out of it, it is in fact a "power tie".

Thanks!
I left the extra pixel on the elbow to give it a little more of a cartoony exaggerated bend. Without it it looks too straightlaced, or so I thought at the time. I did notice I have a problem with the bubble lighting going over the foreground arm, which I might fix if it lets me and I have time.
I kinda agree with you about the legs. I wasn't spending a lot of time on the design as I just wanted to make something quick and fun. It's only got 4 legs and the light may too much on the back legs. It was a little difficult to ponder as the light was coming in at a 90 degree angle to the object from the upper right, and the light was going through the bubble to hit the back legs, against a curved object.
As for backgrounds. I think any object that has black outlines won't look as good on black because they disappear. And that's the case here certainly. I tested this on various neutral greys and brownish greys. When I uploaded it I noticed that the pixel joint brown background that I use was pretty dark and I had to recolor the brain stem so it was visible. Aside from that I'm not sure what effects you mean on black background. I've been told in the past not to upload things with a single solid background color, so I've left it transparent.
