This artwork was ordered by the nice folks at Half Empty Energy Tank for the Mega Man-athon 3's promo video for the MAGFest 2015. Their request was to turn the Gaylord National Hotel (where the MAGFest took place) into an 8-bit incarnation of Dr Wily's castle.
Here is a reference from the real hotel I used to create the hotel in 8-bit style.
Some folks may notice that the color count, or resolution is not true to the NES. Well, this was made to be artistically reminiscent of the NES, and not to be EXACTLY like it would appear on a NES screen.
What do you think? |
Not enough out-of-place dark cyan in the blue image.
Really, though, nicely done. It sort of lacks the creative charm of Capcom's Wily Castles, but then again, it's based off a real building, and there's only so far you can go without abandoning the original design.
