Hmm yeah that is a very good point there CELS. Prehaps I could put some grass texture in just to make it look a little less flat or sloping. Do you think the colours should be a little less different to one another?
This piece poses an interesting dilemma. We're so used to looking at colours as a way to create shapes, so the dark stripes look like they're slopes in shade, while the bright stripes look like they're slopes catching sunlight. But I guess you're just going for the way grass looks striped when it's been freshly cut. That's kind of interesting.
Very nice pixelling, but I feel like the structure on the roof doesn't quite fit in.
I guess you could do both. Add a little bit of texture and fix the colours a bit. You may want to decrease saturation in the bright fields and increase the amount of yellow in the dark fields to mess with the optical illusion (typically things in sunlight would have more saturation and things in shade would have colder colours) too. Another option would be to add more visual clues that illustrate the flatness of the lawn. Like a pond or a little fence or a little brick road leading down to the sidewalk or whatever.
Best of luck :)
