Yes, I know. It's a very good example of using the same sprites to emulate details that you normally cannot do. It's abstract and figurative in the same time, and that's what I appreciate. Not to mention this technique is ideal for consols with low memory. (So, basically I know that it's not a big deal and with the modern hardwares it's tehcnically useless, but for artistic reasons, I like it very much :)
@HZoltan - it was my first time making trees this way; I was just trying to use tiles as efficiently as possible (ie the tall grass is the same tile as the shadowed leaves in the trees).

I always wanted to learn the technique that you used on the plants/trees in the background. I like this and I like that it is a beliveable game mock-up.
