Oh boy. I started this around christmas, when I've been reading quite some LeFanu, which probably reflects in the atmosphere I was going for here. I pretty much had it "finished" as soon as the semester started up again, but couldn't figure out what to do with the tree's roots and just let it rot till about two weeks back. Instead of just adding branches, I really sunk my teeth into changing pretty much everything about it, so it's some weird sort of relief to finally see it kinda-sorta finished. I'm not too sure about the snake, but I literally spent the last five hours changing the pattern and tiny things about the head and feel like this is the best I can do. I'm always open for suggestions, though!

wow, the tree has an amazing texture! so many details!

also love the part where the snake is coming out of the arm and going around the branch! very well rendered!

I'll change that shortly. I cropped it from the original right after having finished it and thought it was a great idea at the time, but I absolutely see what you mean. It was close to 6am and I had spent the hours before on it, though, so maybe at that point my senses were close to mush. I'll try to come up with something that makes more sense tomorrow, as it's almost just as late again now.
