Really nice! One suggestion is to make the ocean and sky slightly more different.
The contrast between the surface and the underwater section is fascinating. The sky ornamentation is a nice touch as well.
Amazing how you play with the overcast lighting....
You are the man, Mrmo!
I'm it that "bring tentacles back" group too.
It's hard to understand what is a danger without them.
The subtle shades of colors give the work a very unnerving feel, especially with the misty sea monster. The great thing is that there's also enough contrast to make it dynamic. Very good work.
This is great, the palette works very well for creating an eerie atmosphere.
Bring back the tentacles! The glow looked quite striking in your WIP thread. Still great but I think i liked the other version more than this one.
mrmo!!! beautiful. i honestly thought this was a3um at first
A copule of nitpicks:
The underwater lights are senseless without tentacles or whatever else looming out of the abyss. I can guess that the dark colour is meant to depict something like a giant octopus head, but it`s unclear, imho.
The waves` shape looks like if the wind was blowing from the right to the left, although the ship`s flag seems to be flattering the opposite direction.
But in general it`s gorgeous, of course.
a shame you removed the tentacles of the kraken/octopus, it really made the piece more intresting imo.
lovely work nonetheless
it's like.. if Aivazovsky did pixel art! : )
Beautiful image!
That is super rad! Really interesting take on the border around the whole piece -how it splits in the middle of it. Seems to stray a lot in style from your usual work, looks great.
I tried shifting the palette to make the bottom part slightly lighter. It also resulted in using that greenish color a lot more, which maybe looks more like water now :)
I love the top part of the image, but the underwater palette seems much too bold for the rest of the image.
That subtle touch of the waves going over the pieces border looks so good. As does the rest of the piece. Glad to see you making some more pieces, Mrmo
Dramatic ... very nice.
