I like it a lot. However, he appears to be grasping the pike with just one hand, which seems a bit odd since he has sort of an action pose.
You should use some other green colour... Because it's hard to appreciate the darks and lights... Have you tried with some dark contrastant red or orange?
It's micro size makes it hard to appreciate the lighting effects used.
Oh he's just transitioning to having the pike stand horizontal.
He's on guard.
