Very nice work, Dops. I really like your art style - you seem to make very simple shapes looks like so much more. Props to Cyangmou for the palette too then, as that is usually a big help.
The bottom part will be covered by the menu, and the center portion has to be flat for the party and enemy sprites to stand out.
it's cool. for my personal taste you coul even crop a bit the bottom half of the image. all that grass is not necessary. also, if you notice there's more contrast, detail on the background objects than the grass on the foreground. great work anyway.
