Ah ya :) That's because the hypothetical light source in this piece is from the top left. So every time the white line overlaps the yellow, it casts it's shadow over the yellow. Seeing as the yellow line runs along the light source and not against, it doesn't cast a shadow :)

How come the white lines cast a shadow on the orange lines but not viceaversa? :o

I believe that I did submit it to the weekly challenge, the artpiece itself just hasn't bee approved yet for some reason.
