Yeaah, starbucks! Way to go!

I must say that this piece was not something I took very seriously. I was my first attempt at pixel art... I am not an artist by any means.  I did it to pass the time in between classes... My technique improved as i went on and by the end I was quite proud of it.  I see what everyone is saying about it and most peoples points are quite valid...

That said, Please if you want to comment.. "Constructive criticism" is appreciated, not flaming.  Saying things like "read the rules first" is just ignorance.  I did not make the block for this site i made it for another site, and I didn't even know about this site when I started it.  I submitted to this site hoping to get some positive feedback on how I can improve future endeavors.   I followed the "rules" to the best of my abilities.  Obviously someone is not going to ace every aspect of pixel art on their first piece, and the mentality that my first piece should be keen to every nuance and aspect of "pixel art" is quite childish.

I am not going to revise the starbucks any time soon, I have moved onto a new pixeldam block. 

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who realized that this is my FIRST attempt at pixel art... And there were a lot of things i didn't know how to do and a lot of nuances that i did not know about.  Constructive criticism from Jalonso and Daporta etc. was very appreciated.  But to those who flamed me, flaming someone on their first piece is not a great way to encourage to people to join this genre of art.

what i find disappointing about this piece is that none of the colors do it any benefit; you could have done the same thing with 24 colors and no visible decrease in 'quality.'  parts of it still seem to be relics of filters, and as a whole, the iso itself is not terribly impressive, especially with all of the lighting disagreement.  when doing iso, you are blessed with a grid....all you need to do is drop down a few lines and joint the shadows at the intersections - its like linear perspective but without the headaches.  the shapes arent too complicated either, it would take twenty minutes to sort out 99% of the issues and it would look a whole lot better.
Its a fine first try, but its nothing to fight over.  Half of the time you put into arguing could have been used to make a piece twice as good, and i have a feeling that you can.

EXACTLY, The drivers should be right next to the window! Not the Passenger!

Possum, in America the drivers side is the left.

I think that this is good, The only strange thing is thatt the drive through menu thingy-ma-bobber is WAY too close the car. The person in the passenger seat (by the way, the drivers side should be facing the menu) couldn't see any of the menu.

Pretty nice, but those cars really bring it down. I'd recommend either redoing them or removing them completely. They look horrible to be frank. And there seems to be a very inconsistent use of black outlines. I'd get those replaced as well.

First I have to say that I fully support all Iso pixel art....and to me it's it. 

 

Second: It’s a good ISO to be a first work....and at last I hope that we can keep a moderate language.

 

 

Photoshop is absolutely valid for making pixelart.

damn, 223 colors...pathetic. this may be your first submitted piece, thats what makes my reply even better. read the damn rules. sure, if this was maybe your third photoshopped piece, thats understandable, but first is way out of line. all new members MUST read the rules before doing anything that may affect the entire community. honestly, I think you should remove this piece asap before: 1. you gather in more flames. 2. its obviouslyl not pixel work. 3. it isnt even drawn correctly. 4. your language is way out of hand.

Reall nice for a first piece, my only complaint are the cars, they look well uhm too small and too ugly ;). Keep it up!

It's pretty good for a first piece.  The only thing I would suggest adding is mabye some shrubbery on that strip of green grass.....

I think it looks great for being your first piece! However some of the lines aren't completely isometric as mentioned before and I think you used to many colors on the car windows..

Other than that, keep it up!

OK, I updated teh file to have some of the revisions.  The drive through has been revised, the drive through window and auning have been revised. Both cars have been revised etc... Still more revisions to come.... .... PS... YOU ALL NEED TO TAKE IT EASY ON NEWBIES!

I NEVER SAID I DIDNT USE PHOTOSHOP!!!!  holy s**t people,..... I used photoshop but i have since removed the redone everythign done with photoshop i just havent submitted it yet and only about 20% was done with photoshop!

80% of this was made on Photoshop.

PHOTOSHOP IS NOT PIXEL ART.     For a start im not jealous of this piece of s**t.  secondly perhaps all my works are not in my gallery  because i have sold them, or i just dont put everything into my gallery.  insult my art all you like but at the end of the day its my own work, and im happy with it.

Faktablad - thanks for the good feedback, as i said work in progress so good feedback is always welcome, and yea i was planning on changing some of those black lines.  the reason some of my lines arent completely isometric is more of an artistic deal... The world isn't perfect so i flaw my art... yeah the sign has some blurring it was skewed but that is skewed pixel art i created.  I will work on all that stuff... Like i said my first attempt at pixel art so i dont really know about some of its nuances. ( like i didnt knwo that people gavea  shit if you used gradients???)   As for the photoshop stuff, there are some patterns like on the road but they were patterns i created myself ( There again didn't know anyone gave 2 shits about using a pattern).  But i can see where everyone is coming from and I appreciate comments that arent pointless flames.

It seems to lack the attention to technical details that should go behind every piece.  A few of the lines are skewed and not completely isometric (the line on the inside of the ledge on the roof, the outline of the grass).  Also, you did not pixel this completely by hand.  It is obvious that you used photoshop tools for the street, especially where the texture blends in with the solid gray.  The green awning above the pickup window has a gradient, and the signs and STARBUCKS logos do look like they have been blurred.  I would suggest getting rid of some of the black lines on the cars.

It's funny when you can tell someone like shark is jealous... Everything on here i created myself there is use of gradients but thats merely a time saver. as for "noise" on the roof i never used noise.  Skewed logos??? NO i ceated those signs and logos PIXEL BY PIXEL! pretty funny from a guy whose stuff is s****y and he has like 15 pieces.. Get a life and stop flaming people

gradiented cars, skewed starbucks sign and logos, added noise on the roof.  this is horrible, why not try something without the aid of cheap photoshop tricks

Looks interesting so far, you spend quite a lot of colors on this one, but  on the other hand the street texture benefts from that. The sidewalk is smooth an nice, the brown round stone texture near the building and on the balcony look a little crude. Im no fan of these comic like cars, but thats a matter of taste I guess.
