For the dithered gradient I used the dither settings in paint.net, which are a bit tedius generally but for this it was fine. If you mean the paralax animation it was largely scripted in GM
That sky takes you work right? or is a tool for making every sing pix.
Well, gee thanks guys. Wasn't expecting this much of a response. In case you're wondering I layered in the individual components in Gamemaker and programmed the parallax scrolling. I also had it automatically save the individual frames. I haven't heard of a program that can do this kind of thing for pixel art which I'm really surprised by.
I actually had to reduce the number of frames because the program I use to convert the individual frames into a gif couldn't handle that many.
Wow, this is my favourite piece I've seen in a LONG time. Fantastic work, this is just gorgeous!
This is awesome, I love the way you worked contrast, specially on the specular highlights (ye white dots on the rocks). I didn´t like much the grass animation but it is fine, the cape is super great! I also feel that the right close to the top part of the main trunck on the background has a strange antialiase. I also think the backgrouns dither is a bit out of place. These are just some personal criticism, not that I could do any better. Cheers for a super inspiring and serene piece!
This has that bit of magic that is so rare in pieces.
It has a quality That Reaches the soul of a very special way
Awesome! tho something about the brightest grass color is weird to me. Still great though!
Wow, this is just utterly amazing! I don't even dare to begin to think how long it took to put this together.
Top stuff Mr Fawful. This piece I probably find the most appealing in your gallery :) The animation, while fairly simple looking (I'm sure it took you ages though), also goes a long way in creating atmoshpere. Overall just great!
Yes please.
the big rock's colors and textures are really nice. well done!
Really fantastic. Your previous work has been underappreciated, but I have a feeling this piece won't be :)
Nice, but 256 frames and 1.8MB?!? The rule of thirds could have made the composition more dramatic.
Superb
