Looking at it longer, I think that it might help if you either made the blue petal on the right less visible or, which I think would probably be preferable, made another blue petal more visible on the left. Since currently there are two eyes visible, the onlooker tends to register them as the middle of the face, thus making the orangebrown petal look like a beak since it seems to have the positioning for that (middle of the face). If a third eye was visible, you could probably break that illusion of an "ordinary" face easier than through changing shapes.
Thanks for the feedback. What you say is helpful. How would you reccomend I fix this problem? Its suppose to be more like a star shaped, five petaled flower with eyes in the middle of each petal. Perhaps if I re-did the left "petal" to look a little more like the one on the right, it would look less like a beak?
Lovely texture on his body. The only real grievance I have is that the placement and flatness of his eye make the more orange-ish parts of his head look like beaks. If you put your head a bit to the side and look at the preview, he looks like an alien cross between a vulture, peacock and turkey.
Don't get me wrong, still pretty much love this.
Sounds like a good idea. I'll look into an updateing it some time this week.
