Fantastic homage to Prince of Persia :) Great stuff as always!
Looking fantastic....i like your way of art and its AA.
Years pass and everytime i stumble into this work i end up mesmerized. Love it.
Totally sweet the reflection really fills that negative space really nicely , but I am just just gonna have to assue that the elephant is sitting down. Else his elephant butt would be poking out
hehe, puts a new meaning to "pillow shading". Great work!
forgot to AA the back of the panther?
Haven't been this impressed with new pixel art in a long while, would love to see your progress of this!
The composition of this is fantastic. I really like the lighting in it too, the contrasts are great, and I'm very impressed by how you've handled the reflective surfaces and the many patterns. I'd like to see this animated too, if you get around to it! Lovely piece of work.
Holy hell this is lovely work, Snake. I mean I can't find fault with the pixel work or your general art style. I could perhaps suggest that the marble beneath the panther and the cushioned throne should also be reflective?
yeah there are quite a few duplicate colors here and there, thanks to photoshop though there's a handy way to mess with the color count
so here are a few versions i did i.imgur.com/JSIRrJj.png
That's strange. It looks like the PNG has some color artifacts in it. It's definitely not intended to have this many duplicate colors. Thank you for pointing that out. I'll get an edit up when possible.
Goddamnit your work breaks my brain every time I look at it. Unreal.
Gericault's "Death of Sardanapalus" meets fighting game background. Inspiring.
OMG, is So beatiful, Good lighting, perspective, good use of color, your work is one of my favorites I've seen in PJ.
Wonderful King's Quest VI vibe, I love it. The way the elephant is cut by the pillar is a bit weird though, and the vase and floor on the left catch the eye a bit too much. Other than that impressive as always :)
Looks incredible. Neat that you managed, even without trying to conserve colors, to still manage to end up with a multiple of eight (which of course is the cornerstone of all good pixelart ;) ). One critique I have is that the gray outline around the highlight on the yellow cushion really doesn't work for me. It looks kind of mucky and distracting. All around, very strong piece otherwise.
You do a good job making uninteresting colors amazing to look at.
Sweet! I saw this on twitter, but then I did not realise it was pixel art!
I can see why you like Arabian styles, there is so much room for fun exotic details!
A few things I've noticed: The perspective on the gate is really weird. Also the light source on the front is confusing, if it also comes from outside, is it suddenly in a different direction? It makes especially the puma a bit funny, I would expect that it wouldn't be so dark..
The pixels are not always as refined as in your other works, but yeah.. what can you expect on such a huge piece!
I am glad you put in the time and effort to make this, you remain one of the coolest pixel artists around!
Would you happen to have a wip gif of this, or any of your previous pieces. Would really be interested in seeing how you go about creating pieces like this.
This is what the new Prince of Persia games should have looked like. Not that stupid 3D crap :)
It's a stunning scene, and the amount of detail on the princess and her servant is just amazing. I guess in terms of composition, it's kind of weird to me that the most illuminated parts are the most uninteresting. Amazing scene though.
