This happens to all at least once.
A general rule for dithering is 'never on flesh'.
Good effort and you did work clean :)

Aye that's basically what I was thinking, after I was done I looked at it and went 

"What on earth, where did all this come from!"

But I learnt something and I know what to do, or rather what to be more careful when doing next time 

I think you went a little overboard with the dithering :p
