I didn't spend too much time on this one, but I thought I'd submit it since I haven't posted anything in a while.

Probably oe if the first pixel fish I've seen where somebody actual goes into detail on the scales. i can just imagine the feel of it.

excellent use of color!!

Really nice palette, but I agree that the green isn't helping it. I'd personally go for something darker, and perhaps bluer. Also, I think the lines for the gills on the head could be softened a bit.

Love it! is it the babelfish from hitchhiker?

Thanks... If I get the courage to work anymore on it, I'll try playing around with the colors. Perhaps if the background were more yellow-green, the contrast would improve?

@BigBrother- I get no "replied to comments" from PJ, so it took me a while to see this again.
You would think that the green would in fact accentuate but because the outline of the fish has a purple outline/glow it nullifies the desired effect (green+purple=muddy). Although I totally respect your color sense, I would think somewhere in the violet spectrum lies the answer. Your colors are never boring and expected which is why I found this color choice weak coming from you.

I spent maybe half an hour on it. Do you really dislike the green background? I was thinking that the green would accentuate the red, since they're complementary colors.

Looking at it again, the red ramp is pretty uneven... probably used more colors than I should've.

how much time did you spend on it exactly?

For the first time I am underwhelmed by your work. The fish is great but the frame and its colors (green) "muddy" the fish a bit. The one consistent in your artwork is the boldness in the color choices you make, here they are weak......oh.....you did'nt spend too much time on this one...nevermind....great doodle then :p

> haha... that's great.. but can it let you understand Vogan? :P

Great realism, and the colors were captured well.  It's great to see some well-done pixel art amidst the.......not-so-great.

really nice fish. I like the colours and the shading.

I only would add a little more of contrast.

Good job :)

It turned out nicely despite the fact you didn't spend much time on it. Presentation works out great too.
