Not sure what you mean by "blocky", but may I suggest a couple of things? 
The outline of the red part looks jaggy in the curves, it could be smoother. Also you have a lot of close reddish colors, some not really distinguishable from another, maybe replace them for intermediary tones usable as anti-aliasing?

The asymmetric light at the top is nice; it would have even more impact if the glass of the red light itself had a slight reflection, you know as a reminder.
