pretty nice atmosphere you've created here, nice job with that.
with regards to the colour count, you could easily do with around 6 or 7.
nonetheless, keep at it! the only way to get better is to practice and practice!
103 is an awful lot of colors, especially when my eye counts... maybe eight or nine? I'm not sure how to fix that, but definitely look at Cure's tutorial (second time today I've been advertising it!), as it'll help with many of the mistakes you seem to have made.
The image itself is quite nice, though I would think it'd be more appealing if the figure were on the right with the other beam to the left. You show good promise as a pixel artist.
