This is superb! I checked the game's website and the combat movements and flow look gorgeous too. I'm definitely interested
Ha! MrBeast, Squirrelsquid!!
You guys are my two favorite people right now! That totally fixed it! Thanks!!
This probem has been bugging me for weeks!
A frame delay of 0 will be interpreted as "not set" and most will display it as it would have a delay of 0.1s.
most browsers can not display frame delay lower than 0.05 seconds. setting each frame to 0.05 or 0.06 ( to be safe ), should fix that issue. Nice piece btw. :3
I use photoshop, and I had all the frames set to zero delay. I've run into this issue before on long GIFs. I'm not sure how to fix it.
Depends on what application you are using, the GIF format itself has no limit for the framerate, if you say each frame to have a delay of 20ms it will also be played back at that speed.
In GIMP you have to change the layer name: http://i.imgur.com/yVcUczl.png
In Photoshop you have a setting for that: http://i49.tinypic.com/r9q5pk.png
Thanks for the feedback!
Mr. Beast - I would up the frame count if I could figure out how to make GIFs playback faster. Got any tips?
Lucas Kich - It's not a gameplay recording. We have the combat system largely complete, but the movement system isn't to a point where we could record game-play. Hopefully soon!
There are definitely some wonky physics still. I fussed with it forever, but there were still a bunch of issues that I just ended up letting slide. The slide at the beginning of the walk cycle for example. I'll address all of this stuff in the coming weeks. I appreciate you all pointing them out, it does help me know what's noticeable.
Would look a lot more impressive with a higher framerate for the camera movement, 10 FPS might be enough for character animation frames, but definitly not for scrolling. Though even for the character sprites some more varied frame timing would work wonders (lacks inertia as it is).
Only wow! If it's frame-by-frame animation, I take my hat off
Prettiest mock-up I've seen in ages. Absolutely stunning. I just wish the main character didn't have Chibi eyes. It makes him look like a little boy, which messes up the portrait, for me. I also kind of wish the light source on the rocks matches the light source on the tree trunks, but I guess that's hard to do because of tiling?
I agree with Adam btw.
Wow, impressive! And damn, 142 frames! Did you record it in gameplay and converted to gif or something? Everytime I try to do it the pixels are always destroyed.
Lovely backgrounds! I also like the Prince of Persia-like direction change, thugh it looks a bit awkward from standing.
Really impressive.
Some wonky physics in places and the sliding at the beginning of the run dosn't seem to fit.
And now it isn't showing on the front page (because your preview is 24kb).
The fall is pretty slow, and the arc of the jump onto the cliff is a bit weird as well. Very nicely done and polished, though.
That slow-mo is epic.
Though, the fall after it looks a bit slow.
Can't stop watching it ! Parallax are wonderful, everithing is wonderful !
Would like to play !!!
