Maybe I'll tweak the sky. I kind of wanting that snowy ground... but I'll see that later because I can't edit the picture right now.

The one you submitted has more depth an a better pose than the one you linked so I'd say remaking it was a good thing. I think the chsracter would look better on it's own as a sprite just because the background is very rough and lacking in depth and detail when compared to the creature.
