You should never re-size pixel art to anything but whole multiples though, otherwise it will look very bad.

What I did is that since the image is small in the gallery I scaled it to 96x96, but it scaled to 92 before and got weird. I just tried to get it bigger so it can be seen. Therefore I perfectly understand your opinion but I'd like my small stuff to be seen as much as the rest. Thanks :)

When your piece is smaller than 100x100, you can just upload it as the small one, and not upload a "detail" image at all. Making a larger-than-needed thumbnail like this isn't going to get your piece any extra positive attention.
