The sprite looks good, but the animation works against it since the legs sort of... grow shorter/break? That might look okay on SD characters, but with something more detailed, it just looks weird and painful. A more detailed sprite deserves a more involved animation. For example, the dog could sway slightly, or breathe in a way that raises its body relative to the legs, or bend/straighten its legs slightly at the knees/elbows, instead of breaking them at a random spot. It's more work, but it'd look so much better.
