Your welcome lance. I understand the desire to show your work and get comments. It's does feel much better to get ONE single praise that MANY put-downs, patience pays.
thanks jalonso, for the helpful respsonse. I see where you're coming from and my problem is just to jump straight in. When i feel like it i'll go back and sharpen it up. I'm just eager to get my stuff on here and see what people think. Thanks for your help again, got to go.
Lance, Snader's crit are dead-on. Don't get mad because he chose to say it in a very brief manner. Even when it seems harsh or offensive when someone comments on your piece ackowledge that they cared enough to comment at all. Your art is very jaggy, curves are not always easy to achieve and you will find "jaggy" critiques in the best of artwork, it comes with the territory. Your lines are sloppy because after you draw them it seems you don't go back in and clean them up so that they are crisp and even if not a masterpiece at least the effort to do your best is evident. One reason your dithers are sloppy is because where you attempted to fade out the bottom it merely looks like a stripe going across the bottom. My advice is when you think you finished a piece close the file and come back to it later with fresh eyes and try to look at it objectively, or go through the WIP forum first to be sure it's the best it can be.
i recognized this "spirited away" character inmediately, but i must agree with snader. I'm sure if you devote more time on this it will be a remarkable piece
