Cheers, Bobston! I've been using the same kind of previews for all my pixel art lately, so I'm happy you recognized it as mine. Or was it perhaps because I'm one of the people who keeps pixelling these tiny mechs? :)
I'm far too lazy for isometric mechs, I'm afraid. Too much work! But I promise to make my next preview a bit more tantalizing ;)
The mechs are rendered really good! I can look at it for quite some time without getting bored.
My biggest issue is that the preview is rather boring compared to this! (My least favorite mecha design of those)
...Still waiting for a mech from you that isn't direct front view
P.S. immidiatly knew it was you from the preview
@Mandrill: Wow, thanks! That's a really positive way of looking at it. I don't feel much artistic pride from this, but it was just something I did for fun and to learn more about GraphicsGale. Thanks for making me feel better about it :)
@AKA_Mathieu: Thank you, I copy-pasted it from the internet myself :)
I immediately thought about Battletech on the Sega Megadrive! I like your idea!
Superb idea, would play!
There are no flaws I could spot right away, pixel work looks sharp and very clean, there are a ton of details (smaller mech Iceman, larger mech Maverick ) and the animation looks fantastic. I would even go so far and say that this is one of your most technically advanced pieces.
That you decided to properly animate this and to pick a lightsource which doesn't provide you with the easy way out (mirroring) shows how much you have grown as an artist.
This deserves much more attention in my opinion.
Absolutely great.
Too much epicness on the enemy turn! Very cool.
