@Iscalio: Thank you, and you absolutely should create a gemsona! It's very fun. :')
@Manupix: Thank you very much! Your critique is amazingly helpful! The blue/purple area combinations that you pointed out have been picking at my brain all while working on it and I couldn't figure out why. The shift in depth is definitely a problem I'll have to watch out for in the future. Overall, I'm just gleaming by your commentary! Everything you said will help me catch problems in my next piece. Again, thank you! (I wish I could 'like' or 'thumbs up' your post, aha.)
"particularly the blue in the white of the eye" (no idea if it's meant as a complimlent or not ;)
I love your characters and clean pixeling. Keep'em coming!
This piece has some issues though.
The detail in the hair keeps turning the eye away from the face which should be the focus of the composition. This is compounded by a strange problem I don't really understand: the blue and purple areas are 'floating', resulting in a shifting depth relationship between them, everywhere they touch (head/hair, elbow/hair, her left leg/thigh, her right leg/left foot). It may just result from the stark color contrast, or not. Anyway the piece might benefit from more bridging / recycling between colors, both locally and in palette-space.
Nitpicks: the leopard skin texture in the head (no idea what it is!) is too bright relatively to the shadow it's in; the ear is too large even for the large head.
"Especially the blue eye white" according to google translate? Cute stuff btw
Checked out your blog, now I want to do the gemsona thing.
Parlez vu Anglais? S'il vouz plait. My apologies, but I am finding it difficult to understand your comment as I do not have a good grasp on French. (Beautiful language, though!) Is this C+C or a compliment for what I am assuming is directed at the eyes?
You are sooo goooood
